The White Lake Police Department is accepting employment applications

 

Accountant: Grade 13

Under general direction, plans and performs the disbursement and accounting of revenues and expenditures for the Town. Work involves performing the budgetary accounting, general ledger, financial reporting, payroll, accounts payable, cash and bank account management, assisting with budget preparation and related fiscal tasks. Work requires professional level accounting knowledge and skill and is performed in accordance with established municipal finance procedures, local ordinances and North Carolina General Statutes governing the responsibilities of local government accountants.

Graduation with a bachelor’s degree in accounting or business, and considerable experience in public finance administration; or an equivalent combination of education, Prefer CPA or Public Finance Officer Certification from the UNC School of Government. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required. Applicants will be tested for proficiency in: Accounting Principles, Excel and Microsoft Applications.

Police Officer

POLICE OFFICER (FULL-TIME AND PART-TIME): Town of White Lake, a resort community, population of 846. Salary Grade 14. Duties includes patrolling the Town during an assigned shift, preventing, detecting and investigating disturbances and crime; performing traffic control work; apprehending suspects; and executing related assignments. Employee must exercise judgment, initiative and calm control when performing duties. Graduation from high school and completion of basic law enforcement training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess a valid North Carolina driver’s license and have completed at least the minimum requirements established by the North Carolina Justice Training and Standards Commission for certified law enforcement officers.
